Product class 3: HighTechReady-Osmium grades 4N - 7N (99.99% - 99.99999%)
This grade is used for crystallization and in the high-tech industry, provided that defined elements have been removed by high purification and therefore cannot make the application impossible or interfere with it.
General information about HTR-Osmium as a tangible asset - HichTechReady-Osmium
In addition to applications in the jewelry industry, osmium in a specially purified form will also be used in new industries. Second-generation quantum computing, medical technology, high-temperature superconductivity, military technology and many other industries are focusing on research into the use of osmium.
We would like to provide a brief explanation for the purchase or exchange of osmium:
1. Exchanging crystalline osmium for HTR-Osmium
From now on, crystalline osmium can and should be exchanged for HTR osmium free of charge. This process is recommended as crystalline osmium can only be used in the jewelry sector, but not in the high-tech industry. The exchange is carried out at a ratio of 1:2, i.e. for every milligram of crystalline osmium you receive 2 milligrams of HTR osmium. The exchange provides the option to sell into both markets in the future as soon as the new research and technologies are ready for the market. Should a lucrative sales option arise for jewelry production, the HTR osmium can also be exchanged back into crystalline osmium at the same ratio at any time free of charge.
2. What is HTR-Osmium?
High-tech-ready osmium refers to a high degree of purity that osmium must have in powder form in order to be crystallized or to be used in future technologies. It is particularly important that some elements of the periodic table are significantly eliminated in order to make the respective areas of application possible. The material has a gray sheen and is prepared for use as fine granules. It is available in vials of 1, 2, 10, 250 and 500 ml and can also be stored in collective storage. Collective storage is mandatory for quantities below 500 g.
3. Prices for HTR-Osmium
The prices are defined as half the price of crystalline osmium, as approximately half of the processing costs that incurr for crystallization do not apply here. Prices can be found, for example, on the website www.osmium-preis.com. Osmium is measured in milli-carats as an integer or in grams with three decimal places as a unit of weight. The prices quoted refer to these units of weight. In the case of crystalline osmium, a finished bar or inlay is weighed and its price is determined. In contrast, HTR osmium can be provided in the exact quantities required.
4. Storage and transport
When purchasing or exchanging for HTR osmium, storage in the Osmium World Council's high-security warehouse is mandatory, as the goods are stored in collective custody. Crystalline osmium can also be stored in this warehouse. The storage costs amount to 1 percent per year of the stored quantity up to 100,000 euros in value, and 0.5 % above this amount. The goods are secured and insured in the warehouse. On receipt for exchange, the goods are checked again in the laboratory of the Osmium Institutes and then certified and exchanged. Crystalline osmium removed from the warehouse can be stored again at any time after removal. This does not apply to HTR osmium due to the complex inspection required for storage.
